His Magic Provides Better Care

A newborn baby with high blood pressure needed care at ABC Family Pediatricians, but the new electronic device to more accurately measure blood pressure hadn’t yet arrived. That’s when Dave Bowers took charge.

A clinical engineer, Bowers located one of the new machines at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest and delivered it quickly to the physicians’ office in Laurys Station.

Bowers works magic on a regular basis, like when he helped a family practice complete a planned weeklong move in just two days, enabling them to be up and running faster for its patients. “There’s only one word to describe him,” says gynecologist Michael Sheinberg, M.D. “Indispensable.”

Whether moving equipment or fixing a heart testing machine so it’s available for patients when needed, Bowers lends a helping hand. “He’s always there to come to our rescue,” says administrator Barbara Salvadore.
